Remred, a subsidiary of 4iG Space and Defence Technologies (4iG), has selected South Korea’s TelePIX to provide electro-optical camera systems for the HUSAT satellite program’s low Earth orbit Earth observation satellites.

The agreement follows a multiround selection process. Under the partnership, TelePIX will supply very high resolution (VHR) camera and sensor systems for the HULEO satellite constellation, which is being developed as part of Hungary’s HUSAT program. The systems will support Earth observation missions and data collection.

Remred is responsible for overall mission architecture, system design, development and testing of the HULEO constellation, as well as device integration. Manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing will take place at the Remtech Space Competence Center facility.

TelePIX specializes in high-resolution, space-grade electro-optical systems for small and medium satellite programs. Its camera systems are designed to support Earth observation missions with compact architectures and onboard data processing capabilities. The company’s technologies are used in applications including environmental monitoring, mapping, infrastructure analysis and defense-related Earth observation programs.

The partnership is part of a broader international supplier network for the HUSAT program. 4iG Space and Defence Technologies has previously signed agreements with Germany’s Vertex for a ground antenna system, and with France’s Eutelsat for frequency resources for a geostationary satellite. The companies said they are also exploring the possibility of establishing a joint venture in Hungary to develop and manufacture electro-optical satellite cameras as part of a longer-term partnership.

The HUSAT constellation is intended to provide high-resolution Earth observation imagery for commercial, institutional and government users. According to the companies, the data will support economic, environmental and security-related decision-making.

Remred has nearly 50 years of experience in aerospace engineering and has worked on international space programs including the Artemis Lunar Gateway and the Comet Interceptor mission. The company develops equipment related to space weather and radiation, and cooperates with international space agencies and industry partners.
