ERM and Jupiter Intelligence partner on climate risk analytics and resilience planning

ERM and Jupiter Intelligence have announced a partnership aimed at helping organizations translate extreme weather risk into business strategy and investment planning.

The collaboration combines Jupiter’s climate risk data and analytics with ERM’s advisory and operational expertise to support organizations in quantifying physical climate risk, prioritizing resilience investments and integrating risk considerations into decision-making.

According to the companies, the increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events are affecting operations, asset values and supply chains across multiple industries. The partnership is intended to provide analytics for operational and investment decisions rather than compliance reporting alone.

Jupiter’s analytics are designed to integrate into risk models, investment decisions and adaptation strategies, enabling organizations to quantify exposure and incorporate climate risk into capital planning and operational strategy. ERM will incorporate the analytics into client operations and business practices, including facility-level risk assessments, supply chain vulnerability analysis and disclosure planning.

Michael Mangiante, partner and global co-lead for climate risk and resiliency at ERM, said, “As severe weather events become more frequent and intense, businesses and investors are increasingly focused on the impact of physical climate risks on their operations and portfolios. Jupiter’s best-in-class, science-based climate risk projections enable ERM to provide clients with the most accurate estimates of how these risks will impact their business models and strategies, ensuring we can help them take the actions required to build resilience and protect value.”

The companies said they have already collaborated on projects across various regions and sectors. In finance, work has included portfolio-scale hazard analysis for infrastructure investors and asset managers to support climate risk evaluation frameworks for due diligence and capital planning. In manufacturing, projects have involved integrating climate-hazard projections into operational resilience assessments and supply chain analyses to support insurance positioning and site-level adaptation strategies.

Rich Sorkin, co-founder and CEO of Jupiter Intelligence, said, “Organizations today need to act on physical and extreme weather risk exposure with clarity and speed – moving from understanding risk to building resilience. Combining Jupiter’s science with ERM’s strategic insight and implementation expertise ensures customers can move from understanding to action.”
