Vaisala bolsters its global remote sensing support network

Vaisala, a provider of environmental measurement technologies, has signed a succession of regional partnerships in response to rising demand for its advanced wind measurement system, the Triton Wind Profiler. New partnerships include NERI in Japan; Jim Latimer, MM Pro Management and Windhunter in Europe; Marti in Turkey; LOHO M&E Equipment in China; and WISE in Australia. Each of these agreements will provide greater access to specialist servicing and technical advice for Triton users in their respective wind markets. Alongside the new partnerships, Vaisala also launched an improved observations platform enabling users to access wind data from the same dashboard as the company’s time series and energy forecasting tools. Pascal Storck, head of renewable energy at Vaisala, said, “Remote sensing devices will supplant met towers as the preferred choice of measurement technology for wind energy developers and operators around the world. But this shift will depend on the ability of manufacturers to maintain a robust global supply chain and maximise the opportunities these advanced measurement systems provide for a better understanding of the wind resource. “Because the observations platform is accessible through the same dashboard as Vaisala’s time series and energy forecasting tools, users now have a single point of entry to the most comprehensive and powerful combination of resource assessment, monitoring and forecasting tools available in the wind energy sector.”
